‘Our Hands’ Exhibition & Auction Launch 

Thursday 23rd November – Monday 17th December

In celebration of the relationships built and nurtured over past decade, Garbstore have invited nine of their closest collaborators to customise 3D vintage glove moulds for an exclusive exhibition at Garbstore.ten. From TSPTR to Engineered Garments, the result is an eclectic installation from a diverse range of designers. Drawing from a range of inspirations; childhood heroes, brand archives and love, each hand is distinct and represents a key part of the brand’s unique DNA. 

The ‘Hands’ will be unveiled at Garbstore.ten on 23rd November and auctioned off in store and online with proceeds going to our chosen refugee charity, Safe Passage.

Matsuda revisits and reinvents archive designs to create a range of products which rely on carefully sourced materials and old-school manufacturing techniques. From Yuketen’s hardwearing footwear to Monitaly’s fresh take on classic American silhouettes – MEG Company has a unique vision, to create pieces that pay homage to a bygone era of craft. With over 20 years in the knitwear business, Hikaru Noguchi is at the top of her game and there is no stopping her. Influences range from traditional knit techniques and patterns and sources of inspiration are diverse. She seeks a look that is both sophisticated and quirky, achieved through unusual juxtapositions of colour and texture. With a key theme of hand-embroidery than runs throughout, Noguchi’s artisan skill and vision demonstrates how after two decades, she has stood the test of time.

The third instalment of our exclusive exhibition series from Reebok, it focuses on the revolutionary idea that raised Reebok’s technology reputation in 1988. The development of ERS was a pivotal moment in Reebok’s fitness evolution, which marked the beginning of Reebok’s tech boom. Later evolving into Visible ERS, which enhanced the overall aesthetics of the shoe, the late 1980’s and early 1990’s was a fruitful time for Reebok and solidified them as a leader in the industry.

The Next Step: Dynamic Cushioning System (DMX) Exhibition

The Next Step: Dynamic Cushioning System (DMX) is the second instalment of the series, focusing on the years between 1998-2002 when Reebok was experimenting with the development of their new technology, DMX, an abridgement of “Dynamic Cushioning System”. Originally conceived as Energaire in 1989, it was a concept devised to cushion each step through the power of moving air. This progression chartered a whole new phase in Reebok’s history and demonstrates the constant quest for innovation and their commitment to pushing the boundaries of performance.
